Helping dog owners to communicate more effectively with their canine companion

A kind and natural alternative that gets to the root of all dog behaviour problems

About Calmer Canine

I started Calmer Canine to help other dog owners to communicate more effectively with their canine companions. 15 years and 1000’s of dogs later, I still continue to help owners and help in rescue centres.

Never before has there been a more effective way of working with your dogs to change unwanted behaviours. Without the use of fear, force and gadgets it reaches many issues other professionals struggle with.

It is a language that the dog understands and will always respond to. I help you understand why your dog does what it does then offer a better solution to resolve the language barrier between you and your dog.

Does your dog have any of these problems:

  • Separation anxiety
  • Aggression
  • Non-stop barking
  • Pulling on the lead
  • No recall
  • Chewing
  • Toileting in the house
  • Fussy eating
  • Nipping/biting
  • Car chaos
  • Fear of noise
  • Jumping on people

Dogs do speak, but only to those who know how to listen

then you have come to the right place. The process I teach is easy to understand, fun to practice and simple to maintain

My dog no longer attacks the ducks

"It was getting to the point where we thought I'd have to re-home Asha. I'd tried to stop him from attacking my ducks but nothing was working.  It wasn't just the ducks though, it was my other exotic animals too. Then I found Liz, we spoke on the phone about my predicament and arranged for Liz to visit.  Within 10 minutes I noticed a change in Asha which I had never seen before. Liz calmly talked me through what I should do when Asha approached the animals and got me to do this whilst she was there. Now things are completely different and he ignores my ducks and other animals. I can't thank Liz enough as re-homing was going to be my only option. I would highly recommend Liz to anyone and in fact, I already have done."

An afternoon with Liz made all the difference

"We spent Saturday afternoon with Liz, what she showed us made us realise that we had previously made things a lot worse for Evie (simply by not understanding the situation and how to respond). Saturday evening was a radical change from our normally "stressed out" evening. We saw a change in Evie instantly, not to say we didn't see the old Evie now and again over the next few days but we are still in the first weeks of our lifestyle change. We can now see a real way forward, rather than just trying to treat the symptoms. We understand where we went wrong and what to do for Evie from now on. We know we have Liz's support as we move on which is very reassuring. It's still early days for us but we're  all in a much better place. To think we could of carried on as we were is unthinkable."

Jack Russell Terriers, with behaviour problems

"An impressive and distinctive approach to helping two misguided Jack Russell Terriers, with behaviour problems. Thank you Liz for being supportive, patient and all around brilliant. Thank you for being there when we have both needed a boost of confidence, we couldn't have done it with out you."
